I began my involvement with Pwoje Zanmi Kafe and the Sewanee Haiti Institute while taking Dr McGrath’s human health and the environment class. She encouraged me to participate in the spring break outreach trip that Sewanee runs every year in Haiti. Ever since my first trip with Keri Bryan and 12 other peers to Haiti, I’ve been hooked. Currently, I’m in Cange for a 5-week internship with Dr McGrath, Ford Rushton, and Elizabeth Sega to continue to work on payment for ecosystem sercives project with Zamni Agrikol, Bois Jolie farmers, and the Sewanee: The University of the South. Look for future blog posts from Ford Rushton, Elizabeth Sega, Dr. McGrath, and our Haitian partners to find out what we’ve been up to and how our project is progressing!
